In addition to skills as a content writer and producer, you’ll find a keen understanding of business practices and priorities outside of the typical realm of a writer … In my ‘previous life’ I worked as an Advertising/PR Account Executive on Madison Avenue; a Sales Manager for Malden Mills (makers of Polartec fleece); and a National Sales Manager for Glenn of California furnishings. Recently I concluded my eighth year as a Director of the Transpacific Yacht Club – sitting on the Board with the likes of Roy E. Disney, Stan Honey (founder of SportVision) and leading yacht designers Alan Andrews and Bill Lee. Not only do I enjoy the challenges of ‘big business’’ but my broad background in the corporate and non-profit sector have provided me with insight to the business of writing (on time, on budget) as well as sensitivity in handling sponsors and top brass.
